SANTAMARGHERITA S.P.A., Volargne, Italy, unveils Surfalite, an engineered stone surface that is only 7mm thick.

Surfalite: Santamagherita S.p.A.

The slimmest surface of its kind, Surfalite is made from a mixture of premium minerals, quartz and recycled materials. Because of its unique composition, it weighs only 17g per-square-meter. It can be used in a multitude of interior applications, including backsplashes, cabinet door cladding, wet wall applications and covering existing countertops in non-invasive remodeling projects.

Despite its minimal thickness, Surfalite retains all the qualities of engineered stone. It is resistant to high impact forces, is repairable when chipped and has a flexibility unlike products of comparable width. Surfalite’s initial range features 16 colors, with new designs and shades to be released this summer.
